Mr. Buntrock,
Are you by any chance related to Robert Buntrock of Virginia, Minnesota. If so perhaps you could inform me of his address or telephone number? Thanks, Kent Halstead

Having just returned from San Francisco to see Hugh Panaro in LESTAT, I was browsing his website and was pleased to find a picture of Hugh with Stephen. Could this be the same Stephen Buntrock I worked with at Six Flags Great America in 1987-88? Of course it is -- there can be only one!
I was pleased to read of his career thus far; quite a journey from the humble beginnings of a theme-park show.
Although I've missed some of his critically-acclaimed performances listed on this site, I do hope to catch a performance of his whenever I get to NY.
All my best for many more successes!

Dear Stephen:
I am a friend of your mom and dad's. I have known them since they moved to Maine over a years ago, and it wasn't until yesterday I learned you and your wife are actors. Phantom is my most favorite play...I have seen it in Seattle (twice) and Boston. I saw the movie, too, which answered a lot of questions!! Your mom and dad are very proud of you and Erin. I hope that sometime I will get to see you as the Phantom or Raul or anyone else for that matter. Good luck in all you do!

I saw him as Phantom durring his first
night on August 4th, 2005. He was
stunning. I had no idea untill I met him
adterwards that that was his first night!!
I'm picky about my Phantoms, and he
gave me chills, and had me sobbing in
the end. What I loved best, besides his
voice, was his hand gestures! They
were so perfect and precise.... it was
heart- wrenching!

If you read this Stephen, thanks for
making my year!! You need to get
pictures of you in the Phantom's
costume up on the web!!!

With love,
~Haley

Hi, Beth and Nancy! My daughter, Katie and I were with these ladies on 8/6/05 when we saw Stephen portray the Phantom. He was AMAZING and I'm so glad we were there on one of his days in this role. Ditto everything Elizabeth said. Afterward we met him and he was incredibly gracious and friendly. He signed autographs and posed for pictures until everyone was taken care of. I'm happy to read that he has a daughter close to my girl's age. This was her first time seeing POTO on stage (she adores the movie). She LOVED it! Mr. Buntrock, she does a great impersonation of you from the rooftop scene! I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making it such a special day for us. Anytime you want to come down our way for a civil war event I'm sure Nancy will put you up! Okay, so would we. You, your girlfriend, your daughter, bring the whole gang! Faith, thanks for the website.

Rosemary and Ron:

We see a lot of Broadway shows, and whichever ones we like we see again and again. Yesterday we saw Panthom for the 11th time over a span of nine years. It was the first time we have seen Stephen do the role. Well, we were totally blown away. No one else ever played the part with as much feeling and sensitivity (and sheer talent) as Stephen. He portrayed the torment of the Panthom unlike anyone else we have seen.We could feel his pain in every movement, gesture and song. Words cannot say how we enjoyed the total portrayal he gave. We are sure every role he has done has been equally wonderful, due to his obvious talent. All we can say is that we sincerely hope we see Stephen perform again...we certainly will watch for him and make a point of trying to see him perform. Please let him know how very much we were impressed, and will never forget his portrayal...He gave us a truly unforgettable theater memory.(8/14)

Thoroughly enjoyed seeing you as the Phantom yesterday in New York! I was part of a group of 25 people who came from the Washington, DC area to see the play, and we were pleased that you'd be singing the lead. We were amazed with your talent and your athleticism in the demanding role, and your graciousness in greeting your fans after the performance. Thank you for a great theater experience and many pleasant memories.

My brother, Dave, and I swam with Stephen
on the Mudrats in Naperville, IL. I was
looking for the latest on my cousin, Jason

somewhere in New York, and I stumbled onto
Stephen's name on Broadway.
Congratulations! Hope to see him sometime
in NY or San Francisco!

Great site! I'm just so disappointed that Stephen left the POTO tour before I got to see him perform! Hopefully he'll be back soon. I've heard great things about him from his fans and Hugh. Best wishes!

Dear Steve,

I can't believe that I'm writing this and I do not know if you will even remember who I am. This is Megan, I was in "Joseph" with you in Chicago about 11 years ago (I think)! You used to come and play the card game "Spit" with Maureen and I during our breaks between shows. I was thinking about "Joseph" the other day and you popped in my head so I decided to try and see what you were up to, and here you are. I'm now 21 years old and a junior in college. Long time, huh?!?! I just wanted to say Congratulations on everything you've accomplished and Good Luck with everything else that you do!! Take Care, Steve.

I just wanted to say that I'm a big fan of The Phantom of the Opera, and I have been since I was 12 years old. I can't wait to see the performance when it comes through Dallas, or Fort Worth, Texas. Its been awhile since I've seen it, but with Stephen playing in the performance, I'm sure it will be great! Amber

I was reading on another site that Stephen had recently married Erin Dilley. I thought he was already married to Jamie Gangi. Confusion! Have Stephen and Jamie split up? (Well, duh, I guess so, if he married someone else). I was just wondering if this was true, or if someone is making stuff up.

Funny, I saw Stephen in Joseph at the Fox theatre in Detroit many years and was pleasantly surprised. Steve and I both went to Naperville North together and though he may not remember me, he at one point of my high school career was a very good friend. I will never forget that and will always support him, whether he knows it or not. Love to you and the family.
